PRODUCTS
As a large contributor in the global clean air technology movement, LTC. brings the newest and most innovative product lines the world has ever seen. As new government regulations are passed around the world, LTC remains ahead of the curve by conducting business around your specifications and regulations. We hope that we can team up on this mission to cleaner air and make our world a healthier place to live. We also offer "WashCoat" services for substrates. Please fill out the Request Information section for more details.
Ceramic Substrates
Our substrates are honeycomb-like structures with thousands of parallel channels. The walls of these channels provide the surface for precious-metal catalysts that convert noxious emissions into carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor. We offer Standard-Wall Substrates for application with 6 mils or more, Thin-Wall Substrates for applications as low as 4 mils, and UltraThin-Wall Substrates for applications of 4 mils or less.
Our substrates enable highly efficient emissions control systems by offering:
- High surface area
- Low pressure drop
- Rapid light-off
- Thermal-mechanical durability
- System cost efficiency
Diesel Particulate Filters
Diesel Particulate filters are used in trap systems that remove particulate matter (soot) from diesel exhaust emissions. These filters have a cellular structure with individual channels open and plugged at opposite ends. Exhaust gases enter the open end, flow through the pores of the cell walls, and exit the filter through the adjacent channel. Soot particles are too large to flow through the pores, and they collect on the channel walls. Periodically the filter is regenerated (heated) to consume the soot and clean the filter.
- Stablilized Aluminum Titanate is new advanced material used for outstanding thermal performance
- Provides low thermal expansion allowing a durable, monolithic construction, and high volumetric heat capacity for enhanced thermal management
- Provides optimized porosity for excellent pressure drop perfomance while maintaining extremely efficient filtration of greater than 90%.
Intumescent Mat Products
LTC is a leading distributor of high temperature insulation products for a wide variety of industrial applications.
Our intumescent mat products are engineered to provide mechanical support of ceramic substrates in catalytic converters for internal combustion engines. All our Intumescent mat products are designed to exert pressure to resist any substrate movement caused by exhaust gas forces or axial acceleration. Intumescent mat products function as exhaust gas seal for the catalytic converter and provide thermal insulation for the system. Mat products exhibit excellent thermo-mechanical stability and will accommodate tolerance stack-up between the substrate and shell as well as absorb thermal expansion differences of the catalytic converter system.
Our products offer thermal stability with a continuous use operating temperature to as high as 800 ºC - 850 ºC average mat temperature. Expansion properties are provided by vermiculite trapped in a fiber matrix. The mat begins to expand when first exposed to temperatures in excess of 325 ºC. Lower temperature limits of mounting systems are application dependent. LTC offers Application Engineering services to review your catalytic converter design. Service features include thermal and mechanical analysis as well as a final design recommendation.
We also offer non-Intumescent support mats for applications where traditional intumescent mats may not be appropriate. Such converter applications include converters subject to very high temperatures or isothermal conditions when temperature limits are beyond the capabilities of vermiculite based systems; or very low temperatures where the engineered holding force of an intumenscent mat is not sufficient to secure a substrate.
Three-Way Catalytic Converter Systems (TWC)
The three-way catalyst is used in rich-burn or stoichiometric engines for simultaneous conversion of oxides of nitrogen (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), formaldehyde (CH2O) and EPA classified Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs). The three-way catalyst is effective in a wide variety of engine applications and fuels, including natural gas, propane and gasoline.
With the flexibility of our production line, we can manufacture almost all types of Catalytic Converters for the auto industry according to our customers as well as meeting different
emission standards as requested.
